Baby's First Birthday Entertainment is one of our biggest specialties, since music appeals to babies, toddlers as well as "big kids." Little ones feel safe & enjoy dancing with mom & dad or their grandparents or just bopping to the beat of the music. They are engaged by all the fun activities & children's rhythm instruments that they get a chance to play with. There are usually children of varying ages at first birthday parties and "Miss Kathy" is quite comfortable working with babies, toddlers, and older children all at the same time.

7. What about toddler entertainment & elementary school age kids?

Toddlers also love our music show as well as "big" kids! "Miss Kathy" tailors her music show to the age of the kids at the party. 3 to 8 year olds love to direct activities and "Miss Kathy" gives them lots of opportunity not just to participate, but to lead the fun! "Miss Kathy" does more upbeat activities with kid friendly rock & roll songs for the older kids & breaks out the limbo stick which the older children LOVE!

Older brothers, sisters & cousins usually enjoy hanging out with the little ones while they all have a great time dancing, singing & playing with musical instruments (in fact we often have 9 & 10 year olds who also enjoy participating in the show, especially when they love having out with their little brothers, sisters or cousins). Our goal is to provide fun, interactive musical entertainment for the whole family... The best part of the show is watching the little ones have a great time whether they are strumming "Miss Kathy's" cool new guitar or singing into her microphone!

8. Do you have experience entertaining children with special needs?

We have been delighted to perform for children with special needs along with their teachers & families! We have experience working with children who have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, children who have delayed speech & children who have physical restrictions such as brittle bone disease.

Experiencing music is such a joy for children! "Miss Kathy" & her husband show special care & patience for all the children that they work with. The children get the opportunity to experience all of the wonderful musical activities during "Miss Kathy's" show including playing her guitar at the end of the show.

9. How many children can you entertain at your children's music show?

Our children's music show is flexible and we can entertain at both large & small parties at your location (birthday parties, nursery school events, holiday parties, summer camp, corporate events, etc.).

"Miss Kathy" has entertained at parties with as few as 3 children & at nursery school holiday parties with as many as 75 children -- the kids had a great time with either type of show, so just ask!

10. Where do you perform & how much room do you need?

Enjoy "Miss Kathy's" children's musical birthday party entertainment at home in the comfort of your living room, family room or finished basement or at a daycare center, country club, restaurant, hall, in your backyard or at a park.

Since the kids' gather around during a performance it usually does not take up much space. We have designed our show to fit into a reasonably sized space. Please feel free to discuss this with "Miss Kathy."

In warmer weather we can bring the celebration outside! For outdoor kids' birthday party entertainment we recommend that you throw down blankets for the kids to sit on & pick a shady area so that the children can be comfortable.

11. What time during my child's birthday party should we schedule the kids' music entertainment?

We recommend scheduling the children's entertainment at least an hour after the party starts for at home parties. Food is usually served a bit later at restaurant & hall parties & we recommend the children's entertainment be scheduled at least 1 1/2 hours after the start of the party for those locations.

It is important to allow time for latecomers to arrive (we have noticed that most people arrive by 30-40 minutes after the party has started). We usually arrive about 10 to 15 minutes before the show to set up (& since "Miss Kathy" has a partner who helps to bring in the toys & instruments and set up our Bose® professional sound system she is able to start engaging the children as soon as she arrives).

It is also fun to have the entertainment towards the end of the party just prior to the cake cutting. "Miss Kathy" will be happy to discuss this with you.

12. What do I need to provide "Miss Kathy" for the children's entertainment?

Good question! We need safe access to an electrical outlet and a clear space on the floor for "Miss Kathy" to play with the children. Also, please remove the toys from the room prior to the show. We bring our Bose® professional sound system & lots of fun musical toys for the children to play with during the show. "Miss Kathy" and her partner take care of the rest so that you can relax and enjoy the show!

13. Do you entertain at other types of parties (in addition to children's birthday parties & holiday parties)?

Yes! We are delighted to say that "Miss Kathy" has been asked to perform at Christening / Baptism party celebrations, children's Shabbat services & other events.

"Miss Kathy" has also performed at Summer Camps, Library Programs, Picnics, Outdoor Fairs & Corporate Events. She has performed at Baby Naming parties & "Grown-up" Birthday Parties where children's entertainment was needed (for example a birthday or anniversary party for a mom or dad or for grandparents).

"Miss Kathy" is available for any other type of gathering in which you may want to have musical entertainment for the young children (infants, toddlers & children through 8/10 years old) -- for example Weddings, First Communions, Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, Grand Openings, etc. She has performed at casual & elegant party settings and are quite comfortable doing both, so just ask!

"Miss Kathy" is quite busy doing private parties, but at times performs at public events.

15. What is your snow storm policy?

If it is a small amount of snow and the roads are considered safe for travel then we will still travel to parties. But if the weather is unsafe and you have entertainment scheduled for that day please call us at 908-874-5300 to reschedule. We do our best to accommodate your schedule, but in the unlikely case that we are unable to work out a date & time then we would refund your deposit (the deposit is normally non-refundable).

16. How do I book "Miss Kathy" for children's musical birthday party entertainment?

* Call 908-874-5300 with your specific date, time & birthday party location to check availability & rates and to book your child's birthday party entertainment.

* We require a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold the party date. Balance is due at time of party (cash or check).

* When you are definitely booking party entertainment with "Miss Kathy" she will tentatively hold the time in her calendar. "Miss Kathy" must receive the deposit and birthday party entertainment registration form within one week to confirm the booking. Otherwise the time will be released from her schedule.

17. How do I book "Miss Kathy" for corporate or nursery school entertainment?

* Call 908-874-5300 with your date, time, party address (& number and age range of children) to check availability & rates. "Miss Kathy" will gladly discuss options if you would like her to entertain more than one group of children.

* We require a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold the party date. Balance is due at time of party (cash or check).

* "Miss Kathy" is glad to provide your company or organization with an invoice & receipt.
